Making Tax Digital (MTD) is introduced by HMRC from April 2019. This means that from April every VAT return must be submitted using HMRC approved software along with all the files used to complete the VAT return. This means that clients and Accountants can no longer file their VAT returns on line after compiling their returns using excel or a book. This obviously means HMRC receive all of your information on a quarterly basis and can now start checking VAT returns without contacting the client, thus accuracy and punctuality is a must.

From 6th April 2024 the National Minimum Wage for Employees 23 years and over will rise from £10.42 to £11.44. Please note this is the Employers legal responsibility to check their employees are earning at least this amount and inform the office to amend the payroll if required.
