If are a non tax payer earning below £12,570 you can earn up to £5,000 tax free of interest. If you are a basic rate tax payer earning over £12,570 up to £50,000 you can earn up to £1,000 of interest tax free.

5th April 2025 is the deadline for topping up missing NI conbtribution years going back to 2006. This means that after you have checked your NI contributions at HMRC.gov.uk, if you have a shortfall for the full state pension, you can top this up with Class 3 NI contributions.
